Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), an environmentally clean alternative and substitute for petrol, diesel and it is much safer than other fuels, it is less expensive and generally comes from domestic reserves. However,CNG vehicles also require some compromises, including the use of a special refueling infrastructure that is not widely developed in Nigeria. That is why we are here, to provide Nigerians with an alternative and use of gas as a measure of fuelling. CNG vehicles can be used in private and government fleets. Some Nigeria Air Force personnel official cars is currently on the pilot phase implementation.

Seven FACTS you need to know about CNG

  • Less pollution and more efficiency: CNG emits significantly less pollutants such As carbon dioxide(CO2),unburned hydrocarbon (UHC),carbon monoxide(CO),nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulphur oxide (SOx) compared to petrol or diesel.
  • It can be used by cars,Trucks,Locomotives, heavy vehicles etc
  • It is cheaper compared to other fuel, Cost of conversion is related cheap as against consumer’s fear
  • Natural gas burns so cleanly that CNG vehicles rival hybrids in producing extremely low levels of smog-forming pollutants. Natural gas burns so cleanly that CNG vehicles rival hybrids in producing extremely low levels of smog-forming pollutants.
  • CNG vehicles store natural gas in pressurized tanks and burn the gas in slightly modified internal combustion engines.
  • Natural gas, which is 90 percent methane, has a much higher octane rating than gasoline, allowing for higher compression ratios and therefore greater efficiency in the engines that use it.
  • According to the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition, there are more 9 million CNG vehicles in use in the worldwide today.
